How long does the LED light last?

Many LEDs have a rated life of up to 50,000 hours. This is approximately 50 times longer than a typical incandescent, 20-25 times longer than a typical halogen, and 8-10 times longer than a typical CFL. Used 12 hours a day, a 50,000 bulb will last more than 11 years.

Heat is the main factor affecting the life of LED. If they continue to overheat without enough radiators, their life will be shortened. However, sometimes even high-quality LED products can only be used for one year. Because here with few factors ;

1-Overheated

LED lights usually have heat sink to absorb the heat of the LED chip itself. If the radiator is undersized, poorly connected or poorly designed, the LED may overheat and quickly fail.

2- Material

As No.1, heat sink is very important for heat dissipation of led grow light, what’s material of heat sink is better, Aluminum is the popular in the market for led grow light,

3- Poor components

Capacitors and other components are usually required as part of power regulation. Although the life of the LED itself may exceed 10 years, other components may not. Electrolytic capacitors in ballasts for LED lamps are known to limit lamp life because of their low resistance to high temperatures

4- Environment

The ambient temperature of the roof space is higher than expected, the lack of air flow around the radiator, or the improper adjustment of the main power supply will adversely affect the service life of the LED. Overheating may be the number one killer of LED lights.

5- Use hours

The excessive use of LED light every day is also not conducive to the lifespan of LED grow light.
