What’s the advantages of Quantum Board LED Grow Light?
They are a great grow lights with a simpler thermal management system and higher efficiency. In addition, its power consumption is much lower, which can minimize the overall cost of the radiator. Also it with some advantages ;
efficiency
Quantum board provides more output while consuming fewer watts. For example, the HLG 550 V2 produces 168 lumens per watt or 2.6 microliters per joule.
Light propagation
Since light is emitted from multiple points on a large board, it has a more direct path to the canopy outside the coverage area than light from smaller fixtures and must be emitted outward. This results in lower strength in the middle of the coverage area and greater strength around it. In other words: more uniform light propagation.
Spectrum
Samsung diodes (and cheaper alternatives used by many brands) emit full spectrum white light, including all visible wavelengths. They have several different color temperatures(CCT), but they are close to natural sunlight. This makes it an excellent spectrum for plants. Although blue and red LEDs were common in the past, the industry has gradually realized that white LEDs are more suitable for plants, so more and more manufacturers are turning to white. Today, additional diodes are usually mixed into white diodes on quantum boards, most Red IR ,Blue and UV.
Thermal management
The quantum board is usually mounted on a thin aluminum board enough to passively cool the diode. No fan is required .
low price
On average, the cost of quantum board grow lamps is lower than that of traditional grow light or traditional LED grow lights or COBs that produce similar outputs
DIY options
HLG and other manufacturers sell DIY kits so you can easily make your own grow lamps and save more money
