The spectrum of plant grow lights are complex and diverse. There are great differences in the required spectra of different plants in different growth cycles and even in different growth environments. In order to meet the needs of these differences, there are several schemes in the industry at present: ① a variety of monochromatic light combination schemes, mainly including the spectrum with the most effective peak value of 450nm and 660nm for plant photosynthesis and the 730nm band for plant flowering induction, plus 525nm green light and ultraviolet band below 380nm, These spectrum combine the most suitable spectra according to the different needs of plants. ② The full spectrum scheme realizes the full coverage of the spectrum required by plants. represented by Seoul semiconductor and Samsung, may not be the most efficient spectrum for plants, but it is applicable to all plants, and the cost is much lower than that of the monochromatic light combination scheme. ③ The combination scheme of full spectrum white light and 660nm red light is used to improve the effectiveness of the spectrum. This scheme is more economical and practical.

The packaging devices of led plant grow light monochromatic light (the main wavelengths are 450nm, 660nm and 730nm) are covered by many companies at home and abroad, while the types of domestic products are complex and the specifications are many, and the products of foreign manufacturers are more standardized. At the same time, there is still a large gap between domestic and foreign packaging manufacturers in terms of photosynthetic photon flux and light efficiency. In addition to the products with the main wave bands of 450nm, 660nm and 730nm, many LED grow light system manufacturers are also developing new products in other wave bands to realize the complete wavelength coverage of photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) (450-730nm).

The monochromatic LED grow light is not suitable for the growth of any plant. The advantage of the full spectrum LED grow light is therefore highlighted. The full spectrum first achieves the full coverage of the visible full spectrum (400-700nm), and the two wave band of blue green light (470-510nm) and deep red light (660-700nm) is also presented. Using ordinary blue LED or UV LED chip with phosphor to achieve “full” spectrum, its photosynthetic efficiency has different levels. In terms of plant lighting spectrum converted by phosphors, most packaging manufacturers have a variety of spectra for customers to choose from. Compared with 2016, its sales growth rate achieved a significant increase in 2017. Among them, the growth rate of 660nm LED grow light source is concentrated in 20% – 50%, while the sales growth rate of phosphor converted indoor plant LED grow light source reaches 50% – 200%, that is, the sales growth of phosphor converted plant LED grow light source is faster.

All packaging companies can provide 0.2-0.9 W and 1-3 w universal packaging products. These light sources give lamp manufacturers great flexibility in lamp design. In addition, some manufacturers also provide higher power integrated packaging products. At present, more than 80% of the shipments of most manufacturers are 0.2-0.9 w or 1-3 W. Among them, the shipments of international leading packaging enterprises are concentrated in 1-3 W, while the shipments of small and medium-sized packaging enterprises are concentrated in 0.2-0.9 W.
